British "no plastic tea bags"

British tea merchants use bananas to make "no plastic tea bags": no plastic, non-based, unbleached, can be directly thrown into the kitchen barrel

Modern people living in the city, even if they can't rush a cup of good tea every day, still get used to taking a cup of tea in the morning. The soft touch and translucent color of the tea bag often make people think that its material is a natural fiber, so everyone always used to throw the tea bag directly into the kitchen bucket after drinking the tea.

But do you know? In fact, many tea bags contain plastic ingredients, and the industry may also want to "color bleach" the tea bags, which is a big concern for consumers and the environment.

Most tea manufacturers use a plastic material called polypropylene in order to prevent the tea bag from cracking when making tea bags. In other words, if such a tea bag is thrown into the compost bin, it will cause plastic pollution, because the tea bag cannot be completely decomposed.

People drink 60.2 billion cups of tea a year, and 96% of them use tea bags instead of tea to make tea. The accumulated pollution cannot be underestimated.
In view of this, the British tea factory "Clipper" recently launched a plastic-free, unbleached "no plastic tea bag", claiming to be the world's first.

Instead of using polypropylene, this tea bag uses natural botanical materials. These botanical materials are made from Abaca and PLA. Acacia is derived from a banana; PLA is a "polylactic acid", a non-based biopolymer.

No matter what kind of material this tea bag is made, there is really no need for change for those who love tea.

"The new tea bag and the regular tea bag are brewed in exactly the same way, that is, you can still enjoy a good cup of tea in an original way. In order to reduce the waste of resources, Clipper set up a "transition period", waiting for the existing tea bag inventory on the store shelves to sell light, which will be on the shelves of new plastic bags.

Earlier this year, 200,000 Britons put pressure on tea maker PG Tips, hoping that they would no longer use polypropylene to make tea bags. PG Tips, therefore, announced that they will not use plastic in tea bags after the end of this year. Then, the advocacy group collected more than 17,700 signatures and called on other tea merchants to follow up on PG Tips and no longer use polypropylene in their products. Clipper then announced to the outside world that no plastic tea bags will be available soon. (In the same field: PG Tips pioneered the development of 100% biodegradable tea bags, setting off the plastic revolution of British tea manufacturers)

Emma Vass, CEO of Clipper, said that Clipper believes that ethical and sustainable choices should be made, and they want to provide the best products for "our consumers and the world we live in."

"We have worked tirelessly to find natural, non-based materials. Now the new tea bags are in full manufacture," Vass said. "As a brand, Clipper hopes to bring happiness to everyone through every cup of tea--and we believe that The purest happiness cannot be separated from the conscience."
