The difference between cologne and
perfume
Perfume is the outermost coat for men. Many people ignore
the details of the sense of smell, but the details are often very important.
From flavors, fragrances, perfumes to colognes, colognes, and perfumes are most
often confused. In fact, there are also ladies cologne in the market, but in
fact, in the final analysis, what is the difference between cologne and
perfume?
The origin of cologne
Cologne originated from an Italian Giovanni Maria Farina who
moved to Cologne, Germany in 1709 and sold a perfume that was added to the
"Aquilaria" oil. This perfume will give off a refreshing scent and is
cheap after being wiped on the skin. It has been popularized by men since then.
It is called "Cologne Water" in Europe and has been translated into
"Cologne" after coming to Asia.
The formula of the perfume itself is made from
"distilled water + alcohol + various spices". According to the
proportion of the perfume ingredients used in the perfume, it is divided into
different perfume categories.
1. Eau de colognes: The concentration is 1-5%, the duration
is about 1-2 hours, the price is cheap, and the disadvantage is that the
volatilization time is short.
2. Eau de toilette: The concentration is 5-10%, the duration
is about 3-5 hours, and the price is relatively cheap. It is the most common
category in the workshop.
3. Eau de perfume: 10-15% concentration, duration of 5-7
hours, the price is slightly higher than the average perfume.
4. Perfume: The concentration is 15-25%, the duration can be
7-9 hours, the price is expensive and the capacity is small, usually 7.5 or
15ml packaging.
From the above four perfume categories, it can be
distinguished that Colognes is the perfume with the lowest concentration of
perfume. Therefore, cologne water has a lot of alcohol content, and it also
gives people a fresh smell of alcohol. It smells after a meal, and it doesn't
feel too rich, but it makes people feel refreshed.
The correct use of cologne
* Spray in places where you can clearly feel your pulses,
such as your wrists and neck. These parts produce the most heat in all parts of
the body. The heat that is emitted can keep the fragrance of the perfume for a
whole day. If you only spray the perfume on your clothes, the fragrance may not
last long. Spraying on the inside of the wrist is a good choice, and many men like to spray behind the ear.
* Do not spray in places where there is too much sweat. If
you have body odor, don't cover it with cologne. The unpleasant taste does not
match the taste of cologne, so don't spray the cologne in the wrong place.
* After bathing, the hot water bath can clean the skin and
relax the pores, ready for the spray cologne. The skin is too dirty to damage
the aroma of cologne, and if the skin is too dry, the fragrance is not
long-lasting.
* Spray from a few centimeters away. Do not spray the
cologne in the watering can directly on the skin; the spray is too strong and
even drops down the clothes. So just spray it a few centimeters away.
* Apply a small amount. If the cologne bottle does not have
a nozzle, it can be applied by smearing. Use your fingers to block the bottle,
tilt the bottle, and then put the bottle back and put it down. Gently apply the
cologne left on your finger to the place you want to apply. It is enough to
gently apply it.
*Do not rub it over and over again, this will change the
taste of cologne and cause the fragrance to dissipate quickly. So don't rub it,
just spray it on your body or apply it on your body, let it dry naturally.
* Do not mix the taste of cologne with other flavors. Don't
mix cologne with strong aftershave or deodorant. The taste of these things can
sometimes be inconsistent. If you mix them up, the taste on your body is
estimated to be the same as that of the department store's perfume counter.
